We are a compassionate and caring team of service providers from various specialties focused on encouraging and supporting healing and optimal health for our clients in a comprehensive manner. Aspire utilizes our individual talents and passion to help the community heal, overcome obstacles, and experience personal growth. We offer non-violent parenting solutions, evidence-based psychotherapy methods, and opportunities for social and spiritual growth. We believe in coordinated efforts of multiple providers from various specialties in order to provide integrated treatment.

About Amber Phelps Schweda, MS, LCPC
Amber Phelps Schweda, LCPC is the owner and Clinical Director of Aspire Integrated Health, PLLC. She is a native of Southern Illinois and earned her BS from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2001. Amber graduated from Lee University in 2008 with a MS in Mental Health Counseling and began offering professional counseling services to children, adults and families. In 2017, Amber earned certification as an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapist; she is also trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Brainspotting. Amber’s philosophy is focused on body and brain-based psychotherapy methods in order to heal and restore the body, mind, and spirit. Her special interest areas include PTSD, Anxiety disorders, and chronic pain/illness.
Amber is an approved Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing International Association (EMDRIA) Consultant. In addition to her role as a counselor and counseling practice owner, she provides clinical supervision and EMDR consulting to therapists worldwide. Amber is committed to providing ongoing support, training, and encouragement to mental health professionals.

About Veronica Alcerro, MS
Veronica holds a Bachelor's in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Lee University and brings a rich counseling background to her practice.

As a Spanish speaker, she has volunteered in El Salvador and Honduras teaching English and mentoring/counseling adults, youth, and families. She has volunteered at the CARES Suicide Resource Center and served as a child and adolescent therapist for Georgia HOPE, Cumberland Hall of Chattanooga and Youth Counseling Services of Cleveland, TN, where she provided in-home services to Spanish-speaking families.

Veronica has a focused passion and education in Play Therapy and Creative Interventions to use with children, adolescents, adults and families. Play is every person’s innate language and much can be expressed and learned through play opportunities. She strives to provide a safe space for communication and healing.

About Alice Badger MSED, LCPC
Alice Badger LCPC earned her BS in Psychology from Eastern Illinois University in 1993 and her MSED in1995. Alice has been a counselor in Southern Illinois for many years and has worked in both in-patient and out-patient settings. She has experience with counseling children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples.
Alice believes in the healing power of counseling and truly feels called to help others achieve their goals and enjoys seeing lives transform. Her approach to counseling includes person centered supportive psychotherapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. However, she believes the most important role she has is to listen, guide, and help her clients create and achieve their own goals.
Alice believes it is a blessing to walk with each individual in their journey and she finds it an honor to serve others with her God given talent.
Michaela Harrison, LCPC

Michaela Harrison, LCPC has lived in Southern Illinois her entire life and has a desire to facilitate healing of her local communities.
Michaela earned her bachelor’s degree at SIUE in Psychology in 2015 and went on to obtain her master’s degree in professional counseling at Lindenwood University, graduating in 2017. She has spent the majority of her career practicing in community mental health settings seeing a variety of clients.
Michaela’s primary clientele are teenagers and adults going through transitional periods in their life. Her special interests include, but are not limited to anxiety, depression, disorders, grief, college/career counseling, and women’s health. Michaela’s primary technique is person centered solutions focused therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. Michaela is an ally to LGBTQIA+ community and provides a safe space for all individuals.
